Our Commitment
Welcoming a puppy into your family is an exciting milestone, and we believe it should also be a thoughtful one.
At FurPaw, every puppy is raised with the understanding that one day they will become an important member of someone else’s family. Our responsibility extends well beyond breeding. From the day a litter is born, we focus on health, early socialization, careful observation, and providing each puppy with the best possible start in life.
Likewise, adopting a puppy is more than a purchase. It is the beginning of a relationship built on trust, communication, and a shared commitment to the lifelong well-being of your dog.
This page is intended to explain our adoption philosophy and summarize the expectations that accompany every FurPaw puppy. Families who reserve a puppy will receive our complete Puppy Purchase Agreement prior to pickup. We encourage every buyer to read it carefully, ask questions, and ensure they are comfortable with every part of the agreement before finalizing the adoption.
Full Attention to Every Puppy
Every puppy born at FurPaw is raised in our home as part of our family. During their first weeks of life, they receive daily handling, age-appropriate socialization, close observation, routine preventative care, and plenty of positive human interaction.
Our goal is not simply to produce beautiful dogs. Our goal is to raise confident, affectionate companions that are well prepared to transition successfully into their new homes.
We believe responsible breeding begins long before a puppy is born and continues long after the puppy goes home.
Choosing the Right Home
Finding the right family is just as important to us as finding the right puppy for you.
We encourage prospective owners to ask questions, learn about the Pomchi breed, and carefully consider whether a puppy is the right fit for their lifestyle. We are always happy to discuss temperament, activity level, grooming, travel, training, and daily care before a reservation is made.
Our hope is that every adoption becomes a lifelong match.
Health and Veterinary Care
Before joining their new families, our puppies receive age-appropriate veterinary care and preventative parasite treatment according to our health protocol.
Each puppy leaves with medical records documenting the care they have received while with us.
Because a puppy’s environment changes significantly after adoption, we ask every family to schedule a wellness examination with their veterinarian shortly after bringing their puppy home. This first visit helps establish care with your veterinarian, confirms your puppy’s health, and provides an opportunity to discuss vaccination schedules, nutrition, parasite prevention, and any questions you may have.
Our Health Guarantee
Our Puppy Purchase Agreement includes a limited health guarantee intended to provide peace of mind while recognizing that puppies are living animals whose development continues as they grow.
The guarantee addresses serious congenital health concerns under specific conditions outlined in the agreement. Like all responsible breeders, we cannot guarantee characteristics that naturally change over time, including adult size, coat development, coloration, ear carriage, bite alignment, or individual temperament.
Our goal is complete transparency so every family understands both what is covered and what falls outside the scope of any reasonable health guarantee.
Continuing Veterinary Care
After adoption, your veterinarian becomes an important partner in your puppy’s lifelong health.
Families are responsible for continuing recommended vaccinations, parasite prevention, wellness examinations, dental care, and any future medical treatment appropriate for their individual dog. Because recommendations may vary based on location and lifestyle, we encourage owners to follow the guidance of their licensed veterinarian.
Responsible Ownership
Puppies thrive when they receive consistency, patience, and positive guidance.
We ask every adopting family to provide:
- Proper nutrition and fresh water
- Safe housing and supervision
- Positive training and early socialization
- Appropriate exercise and enrichment
- Routine veterinary care
- Plenty of love, companionship, and patience
Like young children, puppies learn through repetition, encouragement, and routine. The investment you make during the first year often shapes the confident, well-adjusted companion your dog will become.
Companion Homes
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, FurPaw puppies are placed as cherished family companions.
Our purchase agreement includes provisions regarding breeding rights and, when applicable, spay or neuter expectations. These policies help us protect the long-term health of our breeding program and promote responsible dog ownership.
Identification and Microchipping
We strongly recommend permanent identification through microchipping.
If you plan to travel with your dog, particularly internationally, we encourage having the microchip implanted before the rabies vaccination whenever possible, allowing the microchip number to appear on official vaccination records.
We also ask families to list FurPaw as a secondary emergency contact when registering the microchip. In the unlikely event that your dog is ever lost and you cannot be reached, this additional contact can provide another layer of protection in helping your dog safely return home.
If Life Changes
Life is unpredictable, and we understand that circumstances sometimes change.
If you are ever unable to keep your FurPaw dog, whether months or many years after adoption, we ask that you contact us before considering surrendering your dog to a shelter or rescue organization.
We remain committed to every puppy we raise and will gladly assist in finding a safe and appropriate solution whenever possible.
Once a FurPaw puppy, always part of the FurPaw family.
Lifetime Support
Our relationship doesn’t end on adoption day.
Whether you have questions about feeding, training, behavior, travel, grooming, or simply want to share an update, we are always happy to hear from our FurPaw families.
Many of our favorite moments come years after a puppy has gone home, when we receive photographs, stories, and updates showing the wonderful lives our puppies are living. Watching them grow is one of the greatest rewards of responsible breeding.
Our Adoption Agreement
Every adopting family receives our complete Puppy Purchase Agreement after submitting a reservation deposit and before taking their puppy home.
The agreement explains our mutual responsibilities in detail, including health guarantees, veterinary care, ownership expectations, and our lifelong commitment to every puppy we place.
We encourage every family to read the agreement carefully and ask questions. We want every adoption to begin with complete confidence and a shared understanding.
A Relationship That Lasts a Lifetime
Bringing a puppy into your home is the beginning of a relationship, not the end of a transaction.
Our adoption process is built on thoughtful care, honest communication, responsible ownership, and a lifelong commitment to every puppy entrusted to us.
Thank you for considering a FurPaw puppy. We look forward to helping you welcome a happy, healthy companion into your family.
The FurPaw Promise
Every puppy begins life with us as an individual, not a product. From their very first days, they are known, observed, handled, and cared for as members of our extended family. That perspective guides every decision we make.
When you welcome a FurPaw puppy into your home, we promise to treat you with the same honesty, respect, and kindness that we hope your puppy will experience throughout its life.
We promise to communicate openly, answer questions thoughtfully, and never intentionally misrepresent the health, temperament, or development of one of our puppies.
We promise to continue learning, improving, and holding ourselves to high standards of responsible breeding, recognizing that every litter teaches us something new.
We promise that our concern for your puppy does not end when you drive away. Whether you need advice next week or many years from now, we hope you’ll always feel comfortable reaching out.
Above all, we promise to remember that every puppy we raise will become someone’s trusted companion, quiet comfort, joyful adventure partner, and beloved member of the family. That is both a privilege and a responsibility, and we never take either for granted.
Thank you for considering FurPaw. We hope that, whether your journey begins with one of our puppies or simply with the information we’ve shared, it helps you find the happy, healthy companion that is right for your family.
